Committed to Service
Research has shown that students who engage in community service are more responsible with higher self-esteem and resilience. Beginning in grade 3, our students will be able to participate in volunteering opportunities. This will help our students gain new skills necessary for the job market such as leadership, communication skills, dependability, time management, and decision making. As a result of these opportunities, our students will perform better in school, as well as have a greater appreciation for what they have.
I AM my Sister's/Brother's Keeper
The creation of a culture of sisterhood and brotherhood plays such an important part in the lives of boys and girls. Teaching students that the people that they surround themselves with influence and impact their lives in ways that they can not always see at times, Creating a culture of sister and brotherhood is paramount for the success of each of our students. We will partner with different organizations that will serve as mentors to our students in all grade levels.
To provide our future global leaders exposure to the world abroad, our students will take foreign language classes. Research has shown that acquiring a second language improves memory and increases attention span for students. The process of becoming bilingual helps students to exercise the brain, challenge them to concentrate and boost their problem solving skills. As such, our bilingual students will score higher on standardized tests, especially in the areas of vocabulary, reading and math.
